SCGOP Chairman Issues Release, Unveils Web Video on Bakari Sellers Run for Lt. Governor

Chad Connelly, Chairman of the South Carolina Republican Party, issued the following statement on Rep. Bakari Sellers (D-Bamberg) announcement that he intends to run for Lt. Governor.

“Bakari Sellers’s record in the State House of Representatives is one of unabashed liberalism. He has consistently voted to accept the Obama stimulus funds, to implement Obamacare in South Carolina, and against reforming our broken system of State Government.”

“Bakari says he wants to study his campaign’s viability, but we are happy to save him the time. After all, Bakari himself said recently, “I don’t think Bakari Sellers can win statewide in South Carolina.” Bakari Sellers is no South Carolina centrist, but he is a voice for Washington-style liberalism,” said Chairman Connelly.
