COLUMBIA, S.C.– Today, South Carolina Republican Party Chairman Drew McKissick released the following statement on the special runoff election in South Carolina’s Fifth Congressional District:

“Voters in the Fifth Congressional District sent a clear message that they want their conservative values represented in Washington, D.C. I am confident that Ralph Norman and our Republican team will unite to reach out to voters and defeat the Democrat candidate backed by Nancy Pelosi and her liberal special interest groups.”

“Ralph Norman has a proven record of fiscal accountabilty, growing jobs, and fighting for our men and women in uniform. Archie Parnell is an extreme liberal Democrat far out of the mainstream of the Fifth District who will oppose President Trump’s agenda at every turn. The only way to make our country stronger is to send Ralph Norman to Congress, and that’s exactly what we’ll do on June 20th.”

ABOUT THE FIFTH CONGRESSIONAL DISTRICT:
The Fifth Congressional District spans eleven counties in the northern and central portions of South Carolina. The district is largely rural, but the majority of voters live in areas of Cherokee, York, and Lancaster counties that are suburbs of Charlotte, N.C.
